Fundraising Tips

Our top tips to help you smash your fundraising target!

Personalise your page

Personalise your page by adding a profile photo and share your story to let everyone know why fundraising is important to you.

Post updates

Add blog updates to your page so people can see you are training in the lead up to the event

Share your page

Share your fundraising page on Instagram or Facebook, or BOTH! They say it can take people 7 reminders before taking action.

Link your followers

Include the link to your fundraising page in your Insta bio or in an Insta story. Statistics show why fundraising is so important, so share one of our social media tiles in a Facebook post along with the link to your page.

Incentives

Get creative with donation incentives! Everyone loves a prize – organise a giveaway for a lucky donor or hold a raffle separately.

Matched Giving

Do you work in a workplace that does matched giving? Ask them if they want to support your fundraising? If you’re interested in this, please let me know, and I can send the appropriate document for you to use.

Additional tips to help with your fundraising !

  • Invite:-Send invitations to all your friends through socials, email, or sms. Get the word out!

  • Place an ad on your work intranet, email signature or school newsletter asking for support.

  • Aim high when you set your fundraising target, and ask your family and friends to donate on Beanie Day.

  • Take photos and post them on social media using the hashtags #mhfbeanie or #beanieforbraincancer

  • If it's your class or school's Beanie Day, send a note to remind students to wear a beanie and bring a gold coin donation.

  • Follow up with your invitees for RSVPs. If they can't come to your Beanie Day Event, perhaps they could make a donation instead?
